Youth leader charged with sexually abusing boys
Monday, October 22, 2007
A volunteer church youth leader has been charged with sexual battery and several counts of child molestation. Deputies arrested 44-year-old Paul Fagiole Saturday, after one of his alleged victims came forward to a family member. Sheriff's officials say Fagiole volunteers as a youth leader at Willow Oak Assembly of God church near Mulberry.
Investigators claim he admitted to the crime. They say they now know of three male victims. Two are ten-years-old, one is 12-years-old. However, they suspect there may be other victims because of Fagiole's prior conviction on similar charges in Mt. Dora in 1981. The church could have known about the prior conviction, had they done a background check. Church leaders had no comment Sunday. Fagiole remains behind bars on $200-thousand bond. If convicted he could face life in prison.
