GREGORY E. SUMNER, Ph.D., Founder and President

Greg SumnerDr. Sumner has served as a Deputy Sheriff, Police Officer, Senior Instructor for the State of Georgia Police Academy and is a tenured Professor of Criminal Justice for the University System of Georgia at Georgia Highlands College. In addition, he is a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm, serving in the Georgia Army National Guard, and the United States Army.

Dr. Sumner holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Walden University. He holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a minor in Law Enforcement from Jacksonville State University, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma—a criminal justice national honor society, Lambda Alpha Epsilon—the American Criminal Justice Association, and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

Dr. Sumner is an active member of the Rome Rotary Club (127), District 6910 and many professional organizations and non-profit boards of directors. He and Walter R. Adams are co-founders and current board members of a non-profit organization entitled the Community Criminal Justice Foundation, Inc (CCJF). The mission of CCJF is to foster better relationships between local, state, and federal law enforcement. The foundation sponsors an annual law enforcement barbeque, where a full scholarship is given to a student who is pursuing a criminal justice degree.

Dr. Sumner is a published author and frequent lecturer in areas related to crime, human development and pre-employment screening.

As President of PSI, Dr. Sumner carries responsibility for leadership, operations, management and client relations.

Dr. Sumner and his family reside in Rome, Georgia. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Rome, where he serves as a deacon.




SHANI N. SUMNER, RN, BSN, Vice President of Operations and Compliance

Shani SumnerMrs. Sumner has served as a registered nurse in a general hospital setting as well as in a cardiac rehabilitation center. In addition to a clinical background, she has also served as a Director of a wellness center.

In her role at PSI, Mrs. Sumner utilizes her healthcare and management experience to oversee compliance for the company. She also serves as senior project manager of proprietary software development for the company.

Mrs. Sumner holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Health & Wellness from Kennesaw State University. She is a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia.

Mrs. Sumner and her family reside in Rome, Georgia where they are active in their church.
